We Also Have Metered ParkingParking meters are in operation Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am until 6:00 pm. Please bear in mind that all on-street metered parking allows for a maximum of 2 hours. The 2-hour limit allows these spaces to turn over on a continual basis to provide the largest number of people the benefit of parking adjacent to their store of choice. Therefore, “feeding” a meter to remain in an on-street parking spot is prohibited.
If you drive a hybrid or alternative fuel vehicle, parking meters are free! This is our way of thanking you for helping to keep Huntington green. While you don’t need to put money in a parking meter, you still need to follow the 2–hour parking limit. To get a permit for free metered parking of your hybrid vehicle, visit the Huntington Town Clerk’s Office before the Festival weekend.
Enforcement of metered parkingThe Town of Huntington Department of Public Safety pays particular attention to the 2-hour meter limit. A violation of the limit will result in a fine of $25.00. If you are parked at a meter for 2 hours and wish to remain in the downtown area, please remember to move your car to one of our ten parking lots that allow for free parking with no time limit restrictions.
If you have any questions concerning the enforcement of metered parking, feel free to contact the Town of Huntington Department of Public Safety at (631) 351-3234
