The Northport Harbor Water Quality Protection Committee was recently formed to address water quality problems in and around Northport Harbor. The formation of the Committee allows for municipalities and stakeholders to join together to implement solutions to restore and protect Northport Harbor as well as the surrounding harbors including Huntington and Centerport.  The committee has crafted a draft management plan which identifies problems, sets goals, establishes timelines and identify funding sources to provide necessary upgrades to benefit the Harbors.

In the past few months, the committee has convened multiple times and worked to identify specific needs of these embayments. A final list will be presented at the public meeting on October 21 for public input. A panel will be setup to speak to specific projects and answer any questions.
